Shop With Me: All Black Kitchen Appliances

After getting the ball rolling on buying this house, we were so relieved to find out the kitchen appliances were staying, especially since it was clear that they were brand new. In case you missed it, they didn't leave the laundry appliances so I didn't want to assume they'd be leaving the kitchen appliances.

This meant our kitchen came with a new fridge, dishwasher, stove, and microwave.

Not having to purchase these items right after moving, as you can imagine, saved us THOUSANDS! In addition to the huge savings, we had the added benefit of the appliances being exactly the type of appliances we would've shopped for — black stainless finishes and digital preset features... not so different than what we purchased for the laundry room.

Taking advantage of the new appliances, we decided to shop around for some smaller appliance upgrades — a range hood, built in microwave oven, wine fridge, and standing mixer.

What did they all have in common? all black kitchen appliances.

If you read my all black kitchen accessories shopping post, then you know I shopped a lot of black to complete the kitchen design. For the appliances I wanted to camouflage the appliances with the black cabinets and create a sleek continuity, where there'd be contrast with the white cabinets.

Obviously the finish shouldn't be the only deciding factor, especially for big ticket items like appliances... and even small, countertop appliances can cost a pretty penny. After you've factored in the features that are most important to you -- size, price, presets, etc. — also filter by color. Gone are the days where are only options are white and stainless steel.

I'm happy the previous homeowners shared our same modern tastes and I didn't have to forfeit my black on black appliance dreams to complete our kitchen renovation.

If you were renovating your kitchen, what colors would you gravitate towards for your appliances? Would you keep in classic or go a more unorthodox route with something a lil fun & funky?
