Shop With Me: What's In My The Container Store Cart... For The Kitchen?

You guys! I don't what's taken up more of my time these past couple of weeks... renovations or organization. If you don't know this about me yet, I love organization... so much so that I even considered adding organization services to my e-design packages.

A beautiful home is great from the soul (and eyes) but an organized home is great for the mind... at least that's the case for me.

Organization has always been something that keeps me feeling anchored — controlling the controllable — so while still feeling unsettled after the move and tackling different projects, planning out my organization has been my mental reprieve. For the bedrooms. For the laundry room. For the garage. For the study lounge. And most definitely... for the kitchen.

The great thing about renovating the kitchen is that it's given me a chance to control nearly every detail of every surface, giving me a sort of clean slate when it comes to organizing. For so long I've had to work around what was already there and now that it was a design of my making, the storage solutions could be just right.

Like the start of any good design, I daydream; and the best place to start daydreaming about organization: The Container Store

With storage solutions for literally every room, scrolling The Container Store website has become my fav digital past time, but especially with the kitchen renovation underway... I could spend hours not just window shopping the site, but also browsing the Container Stories blog.

So what's in my The Container Store for the kitchen?

After living with a kitchen pre-reno and then during the reno — not to mention the other 3 kitchens my husband & I have had together — I've been able to assess what storage solutions would work best and where... based on our daily habits.

What's in my cart is only the starting point.

Next I map out my organization — I literally space plan the drawers, cabinets, and pantry. Without a plan, all I'm doing is window shopping; with a plan, especially since I'm not shopping in stores, I can get my shopping done once... and done right.
