Kitchen Essentials & Accessories from Amazon
Who here remembers the song "Throw It In The Bag" by Fabolous?
That's how I felt while shopping accessories for the kitchen these past few weeks. When Amazon Prime Day came around, I fully indulged in some rehab therapy. Now that I can see the kitchen in its full form — yay! — I can revisit my shopping wishlists.
Most of what I've been coveting are stylish essentials & everyday accessories. Think pretty measuring cups and uniform utensils.
At first I felt like I would have a lot to buy for the kitchen because I spotted a lot of eye candy when it came to different kitchen tools and decor. Truth is, once I took a step back and thought about what I needed versus what I have, there wasn't a ton of shopping that I "needed" to do... just things that I wanted... really really wanted lol.
I started by discerning what I'm getting for function from what I'm getting for style.
After all this time working on our dream kitchen, I didn't want to "settle" for simply utilitarian shopping. We spent years living with kitchens that were given to us... designed for and by other people. Yea, I've always shopped to decorate our past kitchens — no regrets! — but after doing a renovation that we designed for us, it feels right to get all the dreamy things my heart desires & pocket allows lol
How did I keep myself from going completely overboard?
Believe me when I say what I bought called for a lot of restraint. I thought about when I am photographing the kitchen, showing you the kitchen, and using the kitchen... what will make it truly look and feel complete. Finishing the renovation didn't mean the kitchen was "finished" so getting into the weeds with the details was def a release... aka retail therapy.
