Target's Pillowfort Collection

Whenever I'm in Target, I make a point of walking by the home section, even if what I'm there for as nothing to do with home, much to the chagrin of my husband. My local Target has a fairly large home section smack in the middle of everything so that makes it easy, and one of the feature displays is this amazing teepee by Pillowfort. Every time I see it I get all the feels and I start imagining my daughter in her "big girl" room (and of course I start designing said room in my head, with this teepee).

I remember being all kinds of excited when Pillowfort announced their new product launch the day after my birthday, which I obviously took to be a sign. I was there bright and early, aka on the website, to check out all that was new and awesome.

So what's so great about Pillowfort?

First and foremost, I absolutely LIVE for the colors and textures — the perfect balance of childhood whimsy and adult comfort. The collection is full of pieces that can grow with my baby girl, because there's nothing that annoys me more than having to constantly replace something because it's stuck in a particular life stage.

As my daughter transitions from toddler to whatever comes after toddler to teenager, her room can stay as it is, with minor tweaks here and there, versus a complete aesthetic overhaul. Many of the pieces also give me a "dorm room" type of vibe, which tells me she could even go into them well beyond her teenage years, but let me not get ahead of myself…I just want to survive the "terrible twos".
