Shop With Me: What's In My Build With Ferguson Cart?
As I type this, it's been over 60 days since we became homeowners and it has completely upended my world — more on that later though! — but one of the best unexpected surprises is shopping retailers that I'd only previously shopped for clients... one being Build with Ferguson.
The home improvement e-retailer is one that I have sourced for years for everything from lighting to flooring to plumbing for e-design clients, so the chance to browse their catalog for myself has always been a secret dream. While making plans for the house, I knew exactly what we'd need in terms of materials -- and learned of things I didn't know we'd need — but on Build's site I was able to comb through everything, create projects, then catalog the projects by room.

I've said before that the house was very much "move in ready" when we bought it — and move in we did, with no work done before our arrival — but being that it's an older home, we're not short on things to put our own touches on, especially in the aforementioned rooms.
You know the saying, "everything but the kitchen sink"? Well I'm not anything, if not thorough, so this list is exhaustive and includes the kitchen sink! I'll have to go through a whole bunch of other posts talking through what projects are happening (planned or in progress) but in the meantime, here's what's in my cart…
Y'all already know shopping is my jam — I shop online for sport — but what made shopping for the house on Build's site especially seamless is that they carry top brands that are some of my go to favs:
Kraus for sinks & faucets
Hudson Valley Lighting including Mitzi for lighting
Moen for plumbing hardware
Schlage for security hardware
all practical, all stylish...yes please!
Being able to get necessary solutions for all over the house all on one site without having to sacrifice style has done wonders for us as new homeowners, because let's be honest...we have a lot on our plate! Not having to worry about where we'll get what we need & whether or not it'll look good saves us time & spares us stress.
When I shopped for e-design clients, I was fully aware of the robust assortment and convenience of shopping Build with Ferguson, especially taking advantage of their professional shopping features; but with me essentially being my own client, I've come to appreciate Build with Ferguson 10x more!
As we continue to get our homeowner sea legs, I am enjoying the process — even the most overwhelming parts. Can having to make so many decisions be a lot to handle? For sure. But having Build with Ferguson as a go to destination makes it all the more easier.
As I continue to ideate, I am enjoying adding things to my project lists and discovering new products to get and/or be inspired by. Right now I am having the most fun with shopping for the final details of the kitchen and laundry room, but also for rooms that we may or may not eventually do like the upstairs bathrooms. They're not pressing projects — not by a long shot — but it's nice to daydream right?
I am also starting to slowly plant seeds for projects that we know need our attention, even though planning for them is a long way away, like the garage & backyard.
